Cape Town’s newest, eclectic city hotel, Stock Exchange, is set to open in March 2019. Newmark Hotels, Residences, Reserves & Lodges will manage the hotel when it opens in the vibrant, up-and-coming neighbourhood of Woodstock.
Set to be part of a mixed-use building, WEX1, the Stock Exchange will comprise 33 apartment-style rooms in three different themes. The bold, playful and captivating themes are Urban Jungle, Urban Art and Urban Pattern. Every room in the city hotel will offer views of the Mother City’s authentic city landscape, dockyard or iconic Table Mountain.
In addition to the hotel, WEX1 will include an entertainment deck, retail outlets, stylish residential units and restaurants. WEX1 is set to be a striking development and is located close to The Woodstock Exchange and famous Old Biscuit Mill, both of which present trend-setting artistic expression in tangible form.
Woodstock is recognisable for its vibrant atmosphere and exciting culture, offering fashion-forward clothing, compelling cuisine and artisanal products to visitors. Guests at the Stock Exchange will have first-hand access to the range of facilities and outlets in WEX1 as well as the exciting attractions in the surrounding area. The new hotel’s location close to city transport facilities makes it an ideal base from which to explore Cape Town and surrounds.
Accommodation options at the Stock Exchange include Studios, Deluxe Studios and Two-Bedroom Apartments. Much emphasis has been placed on the celebration of local talent in the unique interior design principles of the hotel, and guests can use the ‘design map’ that pinpoints local artisans to source and purchase similar furniture and décor items.
All guest accommodation has en-suite bathroom facilities with bathrobes and a hairdryer. In addition, there is a fully equipped kitchenette, complimentary teas and coffees, international plugs, TV with satellite channels, iron and ironing board and electronic safe available in all configurations.
The 23 Studios are 42m² with a queen-sized bed. There are four Deluxe Studios of 54 m² offering twin beds. The six Two-Bedroom Apartments are more spacious at 65 to 93m² and are ideal for families or friends travelling together. These apartments have queen-size and twin beds, three of the units have en-suite bathrooms for each room and the other three have a shared bathroom.
Guests at the Stock Exchange can choose to prepare and enjoy meals in the apartments or head out to any of the trendy eating spots in the surrounding area. The outdoor entertainment deck of WEX1 includes a swimming pool which is for the exclusive use of hotel guests and residents. Likewise, the fully-equipped, modern gym room that opens onto the entertainment deck is for the exclusive use of guests and residents.
